Highlights from the HL-LHC Work Packages
During a measurement campaign in 2017 at the LHC, it was clearly demonstrated for the first time the beam lifetime improvement due to a compensation of the beam-beam long range effects, using DC current baring wires.
Summary on the outcome of the 2018 Chamonix meeting
The 2018 Chamonix workshop featured three sessions for the HL-LHC project. The sessions at Chamonix provided the first chance for a technical and performance review of the project following the re-baselining in 2016.
Update on the Collaboration Partners and Contributions
The 7th HL-LHC Collaboration Board took place during the 7th HL-LHC Annual Meeting in November 2017, jointly organized by CIEMAT and CERN in Madrid, Spain. One of the focuses of the 7th HLCB meeting was a summary of the existing agreements for in-kind.
Report on the CD2 DOE Review
The US HL-LHC AUP effort successfully defended its plans to DOE in December 2018, and was baselined in February 2019. This major step provides the funding agency approval of the total estimated Project cost.
Update on the Collaboration Members and Contributions
The 8th HL-LHC Collaboration Board took place during the last HL-LHC Annual Meeting in October 2018 at CERN. During the last months, several collaboration agreements have been prepared and are in the process of signature or advanced stage of finalization.
Qualifying Magnets and Cavities at FREIA
Uppsala University in Sweden has been a valuable collaborator since the foundation of CERN. In the 1950’s, Uppsala, having just constructed its own cyclotron, contributed to the development of the very first accelerator at CERN: the synchrocyclotron.
Update on Collaboration Agreements and Report from the Collaboration Board at the Last Annual Meeting
After the last Collab. Meeting in Fermilab in Oct. 2019, there have been several important developments in collaboration matters. The 2019 LIU/HL-LHC C&SR outcome was very positive with inclusion in the baseline of the various pending options
Update on Collaboration agreements and report from the Collaboration Board at the last Annual Meeting
The still unresolved COVID-19 pandemic, which defined the year 2020, has unsurprisingly had an impact on our collaborations.
Overview of collaboration status and situation with Russian in-kind
The HL-LHC Project is entering the series construction phase and therefore most of the collaboration agreements are now focused on the production of final elements that will have their destination in the LHC tunnel and in the set of operational spares.
