Update on the Collaboration Partners and Contributions

The 6th HL-LHC Collaboration Board took place during the 6th HL-LHC Annual Meeting in November 2016, jointly organized by CEA and CERN in Paris, France.

One of the focuses of the 6 th HLCB meeting was the launch of the new HL- LHC Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for signature and the advertisement of opportunities for in-kind contributions from collaborators. Since the HLCB meeting in Paris, the project has signed various collaboration agreements with the UK, Sweden, INFN and CEA. A collaboration agreement with CIEMAT is well advanced and a new Addendum to the CERN-BINP Protocol is under preparation.

Table 2 below provides an estimate of the relative collaboration contributions of the HL-LHC in-kind contributions. For the CERN member states, this table does not contain the contributions that are provided by the member states through their regular annual budget contributions to CERN and lists only the additional in-kind contributions. The in-kind contributions in Table 2 amount to approximately 10% of the total HL-LHC budget

The CERN and the HL-LHC project are currently in the process of signing agreement with TRIUMF (Canada) and IHEP (China).
