Welcome to the 9th issue!

June 2025

The ninth issue of the HL-LHC CB Newsletter reports on the project’s progress during the third operation year of the LHC Run 3 period. Following the Collaboration Meeting in Genoa in 2024, the project focus is shifting in 2025 towards the planning and preparation of the HL-LHC installation work during LS3, and in this context it is great to see the magnet production of the Nb3Sn magnets reaching the mid-production phases. In several other cases, the project has even already reached the end of the production phase. You will see this shift in focus clearly in the featured articles of this 9th edition. Following the conclusions and decisions of the June CERN Council meeting and my nomination as ATS Director as of January 2026, this will be my last HL-LHC Collaboration Board Newsletter. I take this opportunity to thank all of you for the great collaboration and team spirit over the last years and look forward to celebrating the change in HL-LHC management together with you at the Annual Meeting at CERN in September/October.
